Hi Folks, just got this in.  I have no time nor energy to work on the Mime
Troup event, other than radio promotion.  I'm not sure any of us has.  Last
year Peace Fresno was the sponsor - they can get the glory as far as I'm
concerned.

Hello everyone -
 
I am emailing you because you are some of the folks who supported our past
performances in Fresno.  We would like to come again this year.
 
Finances look a bit grim.  This year we do not have grant support for
Central Valley performances, and balancing our own budget left us unable to
visit Fresno on a weekend day.
 
The only time we have available is Tuesday, September 19th, when we are on
our way to LA.  We checked with the Tower Theater, thinking Roeding Park
might not work on a weeknight, and their fee was $1900!  We checked with
Camille at Peace Fresno and she said a $20 ticket price would be out of
reach for many in the community.
 
In order to meet our expenses (we are paid a weekly salary of $450, just so
you have a frame of reference), we need to make $3,000 on a weeknight and
$4500 on Saturdays and Sundays, in order to stay even with expenses.
 
It has been suggested that some college or high school auditoriums might be
free if we didn't charge.  An arrangement like that would require
underwriting for the event.
 
Do you have thoughts?  Creative ideas?
