Programming Committee Minutes   9-12-06
 
Meeting Convened at 7 pm with David Gendron, Rych Withers, Randy Stover and
Vic Bedoian in attendance.
 
1.  Review of Interstellar Lounge.  The program is well produced and the
content is unique and has a wide audience.
 
2.  Review of 20 Second Soundbite.  The program is well produced and deals
with local issues of interest but the program was unfocused.  While the
content was interesting the program as a whole production lacked a certain
focus.  The committee will review another program in the future.
 
3.  Discussion of Herbal Highway and its evaluation in the most recent
listener survey.  The program, produced at KPFA, is under consideration for
replacement by a new program Pacifica Archives From the Vault.  The program
has a small but loyal audience but the programming committee and some
members of the board have serious reservations about some of the content of
the program as well as questions about the production values of the show.
The committee recommends that the program be replaced by the Pacifica
Archives program, which has broad general interest and excellent content.
 
4.  Discussion of the syndicated series Alternative Radio produced by David
Barsamian for possible broadcast on KFCF.
 
5.  The next program to be reviewed is Underground Railroad.
 
6.  Meeting adjourned at 8:45 pm.
