Hi All,
Since Rych, Devoya and I will be in New Orleans for the Community Radio
Conference I'm suggesting that we skip the April programming committee
meeting. There isn't any urgent business to attend, so let's meet on
Wednesday May 9 if that is ok with everyone.
There are three things to note this month:
1. Literary Mosaic has retired from duty. After doing the show for 8
years, Dorina wanted time to work on other projects. Actually the show has
a long history, and name changes, after getting started by the legendary
Chuck Moulton way back in the day. The time slot will be filled by
Alternative Radio like the other Thursday 1 pm time slots.
2. If you get a chance, listen to the "20 Second Soundbite" program next
Friday (4/6) at 5 pm. I've got concerns about the program in terms of
quality and being interesting. Right now I don't think the program is very
high quality and I do not think it is interesting. I have talked with
Devoya about it as well and she concurs with my opinion of the show. She
tried to give them some pointers a while back but they did not seem to
incorporate her suggestions. I'm going to see what they do on the next show
and then have a talk with them about it.
3. On Saturday, April 14 in the afternoon KPFA's engineers will be
replacing the Satellite transceiver in Berkeley. KFCF will be taking our
programming content from the KPFA web stream through our onboard computer.
Someone will be on duty at the Tower studio during the work period to make
necessary transitions and provide back-up.
We'll have a report back from the conference at the next board meeting.
Thanks,
Vic
