KFCF Programming Committee Minutes for 12-12-07
 
In attendance:  David Gendron, chair, Rych Withers, Rand Stover, Vic Bedoian
and John Pethel.
 
 
The meeting convened at 7:18 pm
 
The minutes of the 10-07-07 meeting were approved.
 
Programmer memberships:  Discussion of whether KFCF local programmers should
be required to pay the FFCF membership dues.  Previously, the FFCF board had
decided that this should be the case, but no follow up action was taken and
the rule has not been enforced.  After the discussion, it was decided that
David would write a draft letter to be sent to programmers to announce the
policy and its enforcement.
 
Review of Pipe Organ Showtime:  The program has missed its performance date
for the past two months.  The producers explained that the program will
appear regularly in the future.  John Pethel is engineering the program for
producer Rand Stover.  Also the program director will be informed in the
future when the program cannot be broadcast for whatever reason.
 
Review of the demonstration CD by producer Don Coleman.  It is a
contemporary music program featuring hip-hop, soul and blues.  There was a
question whether  the Flipside Entertainment page on MySpace was a
commercial site which might pose a problem for our noncommercial status.
This will be researched by the program director.  Otherwise the music on the
program and the presentation was acceptable.
 
Next meeting will be Wednesday January 9, 2008 at 7 pm at the Tower District
studio.
 
The meeting adjourned at 8:15 pm
