[FFCF-PNA] PNA Minutes for October 2007

Here are the minutes of the PNA committee meeting held on October 10, 2007:
 
 
1.  The meeting convened at 7:07 pm with Rych Withers, David Gendron, Randy
Stover and Vic Bedoian in attendance and John Petsch as a guest.
 
2.  Minutes of the August meeting were approved.
 
3.  Review of the program "Soul Kitchen" hosted by Kent Stratford:  The
committee thought the program is very professionally hosted who knows a
great deal about the music and artists.  The program is well mixed with high
quality music and commentary.  The host formerly produced a jazz program but
has changed format to soul and rhythm and blues in the tradition of Johnny
Otis because it fills a gap that has existed since the JO show is no longer
broadcast on KPFA due to his retirement.  It was noted that the host did not
air the calendar or announcements during his show and this will be brought
to his attention.
 
4.  Review of Down on the Farm:  This program about organic farming and food
was praised for it's unique content, heard no where else, and the
interesting nature of the show's guest.  Host Tom Willey is a major expert
in farming and does well crafted and in depth interviews.
 
5.  The next program to be reviewed is Jazz With Jim.
 
6.  We briefly discussed two new program proposals with further discussion
at the next meeting.
 
7.  The meeting adjourned at 7:45 pm.
