Tocanto is willing to play for our 30th anniversary party but would
prefer a Sunday (and probably most of the musicians would). Cathy,
when you call the parks, can you ask for one of the days listed below?

Sue,

Yes, we would definitely be interested, as we are big supporters of
the
station. Sundays work best for us, since most of our Saturdays are
booked
with wedding gigs. At the moment, Sundays June 12 and 19 are open.
By June
we should have our Rosewood Trio CD ready so we may prefer to
participate
with that group in order to promote the CD. Or we can have both
groups
since we would just need to add myself and our drummer to make it
Tocanto as
well. The Rosewood Trio consists of Eva on mandolin and violin, Rich
on
voice and accordion and John on guitar and they play a variety of
musical
styles from around the world, including Jazz, Blues, Brazilian Jazz,
French
balads, Tangos, etc. in innovative beautiful arrangements by John.
They
played every Friday last year, from May through October, at the
Elderberry
House restaurant in Oakhurst and frequently perform at weddings, wine
tasting events and other events.

Let me know as soon as you have a date and time, so we can talk to our
musicians and mark our calendars.

Thank you.

Paola

Importance: High

Hi Paola & John. KFCF is celebrating it's 30th anniversary on the
air this June, and we've been talking about having a big party in
Roeding (or a similar) park with music, food and short talk about
what we do and where we're going. We wanted to make it free to the
public and maybe expose KPFA/KFCF to those in our community who
wouldn't normally tune in. We wanted to get a broader variety of
music and were wondering if Tocanto would consider being one of the
groups that play. We might be broadcasting it on the air live (or
for future play), and we'd certainly publicize all the groups that
participate. Any chance you'd be interested? We're not sure of the
date yet but we're aiming for a Saturday or Sunday afternoon in mid
June.
